CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Book Diorama

Dioramas were originally specialised miniature theatres, which looked like landscape paintings, that would then evolve into different scenes.

Invented in Paris by Louis Daguerre and Charles Marie Bouton in 1822, the word diorama literally means ‘through that which is seen’.

Today, you can make your own, using illustrations or photographs from damaged books – you could even make a scene from a book.
